Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya delivered this exciting CHAN update during a joint tour of Kasarani Stadium with Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen, where they assessed the progress of stadium preparations and crucial security arrangements.

“Ticket sales for CHAN will begin on Wednesday, July 16, through an online platform. We are opening the process early to ease pressure closer to match days and to allow fans enough time to secure their tickets,” CS Mvurya announced, highlighting the government’s foresight in ensuring a smooth experience for all CHAN attendees.

Affordable CHAN Access for Every Fan

Good news for your wallet! CS Mvurya reaffirmed that CHAN ticket prices will remain incredibly affordable, as previously communicated by the Local Organising Committee. You can secure your spot to witness the CHAN action for:

Ksh200 for Regular seats
Ksh500 for VIP seats
Ksh1,000 for VVIP seats

“We are keen to make CHAN accessible to every Kenyan. By offering tickets at affordable rates, we want to encourage a full turnout at our stadiums and create an electric atmosphere for the CHAN tournament,” he added. This commitment ensures that fans from all economic backgrounds can experience the thrill of CHAN live.

Unwavering Security for a Safe CHAN Tournament

For those concerned about safety, Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen provided strong assurances that extensive security measures have been meticulously rolled out. Kenya is dedicated to safeguarding all CHAN match venues and training facilities as it prepares to welcome teams and fans from across the continent for the 2024 CHAN competition.

“We have intensified security at all CHAN venues — including Kasarani and Nyayo Stadiums and supporting training grounds such as Ulinzi Complex, Utalii Grounds, Kasarani Annex, and Police Sacco Stadium. These facilities will all be under round-the-clock CCTV surveillance,” said Murkomen. He further confirmed that entry points like airports, hotels, and border crossings will be closely monitored, and security personnel and stewards will undergo specialised training on crowd control and emergency response for the CHAN event.

Key CHAN Tournament Details

The 2024 CHAN tournament promises a month of exhilarating football, running from Saturday, August 2nd to Saturday, August 30th. This historic event marks the first time Kenya will host the championship, alongside East African neighbours Tanzania and Uganda.

Our very own national team, the Harambee Stars, is drawn in a challenging yet exciting Group A, alongside continental powerhouses and two-time winners Morocco and DR Congo, with Zambia and Angola completing the group. Kenya will play all its CHAN matches at the iconic Kasarani Stadium, ensuring home advantage for our boys. The remaining fixtures will be spread between Kasarani and Nyayo Stadiums, guaranteeing plenty of action.
